Island Bungalows Nusa Lembongan Island Bali.....
Nusa Lembongan is an island off the southeast coast of the main island of Bali. Fast becoming one of Bali's most popular attractions this island paradise is a world away from the pollution, hassles and hectic pace of Bali. There are no hawkers, no traffic, magnificent scenery and is the perfect place to put your feet up and relax. Popular with families weary of travel warnings this island is a safe little spot to enjoy that perfect Bali Holiday. Main activities include surfing, diving and snorkeling. Some tourists may find the island a little too slow after the pace of southern Bali.
The water is some of the clearest you can find and aqua blue in color; good for diving and snorkeling. Surfing is crowded but nice waves. Nice coral sand beach. Learn about the cosmetic seaweed farming industry.
There are two main beaches. Jungutbatu (Sunset Coast) in the north is the bigger of the two with a myriad of hotels, one resort with beachfront pool, restaurants and cheap eateries, and traditionally used to attract the backpackers, families and surfers. Now with the development of the Bukit this area is fast becoming the main attraction and provides some of the best accommodation on the island. The views from the accommodation on the Bukit are second to none on Nusa Lembongan and probably Bali but the sunsets are best viewed along the beachfront.
Mushroom Bay to the Southwest of Jungutbatu was traditionally the main tourist area however in recent years has become a little overrun by the day tripping business. It is still a very nice spot after 3pm when the day trippers have gone home and it has a great white sandy beach along with some cozy little restaurants that line the beach.
Please find below a range of activities suitable for everyone at Nusa Lembongan.
The Underground House
One of the most unique attraction at Nusa Lembongan is the under ground House. Owned by Made Biasa the house was built underground using only a hammer, chisel and intuition as guidance. It took 15 years to complete this incredible labyrinth which includes a bedroom, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and the sacred meditation room.
Nusa Lembongan Oldest House
This traditionally built house is located on the East Coast of Lembongan island. Maintained to its original condition, the house is still very comfortable by local standards.
Mangrove Point
Explore the mangroves aboard a small jukung (traditional boat) an experience an extreme quietness. You will have the opportunity to discover colorful and unique mud carbs and if you are inclined, catch some for a delicious meal. There are many bird species and wildlife in this area.
Pura Puncak Sari
Pura (Temple) Puncak Sari is located on a hilltop, and overlooks the Indian Ocean, and the neighboring islands of Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida. This stunning view also encompasses the East coast of Bali.
Hanging Bridge
The recently built suspension bridge between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan allows visitors to easily access each island. The narrow bridge allows access by foot, bicycle or motor bike: it is unsuitable for cars.
Jungut Batu
Jungut Batu is Lembongan Island second and smallest village. World famous surfbreaks are located in front of Jungut Batu. Breaks such as “Shipwrecks” and "Lacerations” have lured surfers to the area for over 30 years.
Nusa Ceningan
Nusa Ceningan is the smallest of the three islands and is rarely visited. Waters around Nusa Ceningan are crystal clear, hosting colorful coral and sea creatures, making it an ideal location for snorkeling and for any other water sport activities.
Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida has acquired a somewhat eerie reputation, as it was once the place of banishment for criminals and undesirables from the kingdom of Klungkung. There is a deep ocean drop on the northwestern coast, which has promoted the growth of rich coral reefs. Penida attracts a number of visitors for it seclusion, diving and snorkeling, but the island has also some interesting places to visit such as Giri Putri Cave and Toya Pakeh Temple.
Giri Putri Cave / Bat Cave
This cave is crammed with thousand of bats, which are unseen but certainly not unheard during the day.
Crystal Bay
This area is favourite among under water photographers and marine researchers. The white sandy bottom and exceptionally crystal clear cool water with an incredible assortment of fish and vegetation make this place very unique.
The Lotus pond in the area is also world a visit.
Coral Fishing Trips
Nusa Lembongan Resort will arrange fishing trips daily to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan areas on traditionally designed and specially adapted out rigger boats. You may hook a tuna, blue marlin or large pelagic fish. Our chef will be delighted to grill your own catch for lunch or dinner.
